Gus Ferreira is a Portuguese Psychologist (provisional) who strives to provide genuine, non-judgemental, and compassionate support through the various challenges in life. With the mindset that every person is unique, Gus’ client-centred approach ensures his sessions are tailored to your needs, aspirations, and personality.

Gus has a strong commitment to promoting clients’ independence and mastery by providing them with valuable tools to navigate interpersonal conflict, build a stronger and healthier mind, and foster self-development. Gus employs his research and academic knowledge to inform his practice and provide evidence-based techniques and solutions.

With a keen interest in making therapy an inclusive space, Gus is apt to deliver culturally sensitive therapeutic support, support for LGBTIQ+ clients, clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and older adults. As a bilingual psychologist, Gus can also offer sessions in Portuguese.

Gus' Availability

Gus is available for both in-person OR telehealth sessions.​

He is available on the following days and times for face-to-face sessions:

  • Wednesdays: 10 am to 5 pm

​

He is available on the following days and times for telehealth sessions:

  • Thursdays: 10 am to 6 pm

  • Fridays: 10 am to 4 pm

Gus' Story

Gus, a dedicated provisional psychologist, is committed to supporting clients in their journey to achieving better mental health. With a background in education and a passion for psychology, Gus brings a unique perspective and extensive experience in helping adults and older adults acquire new skills, build confidence, and achieve academic success.

Experience in Education and Academic Research

Gus started their career in education, working as a language teacher for the University of Sydney. During this time, Gus helped adults and older adults develop new skills, exercise patience, build confidence, and stay motivated to achieve academic success. This experience laid the foundation for their empathetic and supportive approach to psychology.

​

Passion for Psychology and Impact Research

Over time, Gus's passion for psychology and dedication to helping others became evident. While pursuing postgraduate studies in psychology, Gus applied his academic research skills to support various mental health providers in the not-for-profit sector. Through this work, Gus helped these organisations understand their impact in the community, grow their services, and advance their advocacy strategies.
