About Joel – Professional Background
Joel (Bai Chen) Sun is a bilingual counselling intern currently completing his Master of Clinical Counselling at the University of Canberra. He works under supervision as part of his professional training and provides counselling for adolescents, adults and couples.
Joel brings a warm, collaborative and culturally sensitive approach to therapy. His work focuses on helping clients feel heard, understood and supported while building emotional insight and practical coping strategies. He supports individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship and communication difficulties, adjustment concerns, identity development and wellbeing-related challenges.
Joel also provides counselling for individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and offers sessions in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese to support comfort, trust and engagement in therapy. He works closely with senior clinicians at iflow Psychology as part of his placement, ensuring safe, ethical and professional practice.

Wednesdays: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Fridays: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Appointments, Fees and Rebates
Joel provides counselling as part of a supervised placement, and appointments are currently offered at a reduced fee. Medicare rebates are not applicable for sessions with counselling interns. Private-paying clients are welcome, including individuals, couples, students and those seeking support outside of formal referral pathways.
